To better prepare future healthcare professionals, an intelligent virtual trainer trains, informs and coaches learners in delivering bad news.
The ophthalmology sector today has fewer and fewer professionals, overloaded appointment schedules, and in other regions medical deserts. This is why the founders of the Swiss start-up Mikajaki, an expert in the field of ophthalmology, have imagined a centralized and innovative device allowing the optimization of the management of ophthalmic pathologies. Before each appointment, the patient will have to answer about twenty questions, targeting the patient’s symptoms using an intelligent assistant. EyeLib aims to take measurements on patients’ eyesight and their blood pressure. This data will be sent by email in the form of a report to the ophthalmologist, saving time in making appointments. This pre-diagnosis will considerably reduce the time spent on patient visits.
One of the main issues to be solved is to be able to list and diagnose a large number of pathologies. In addition, the devices imagined and designed to meet the objectives of the Mikajaki project depend on the adaptation to the digitalization of services by patients before their appointment. The application must therefore be very easy to use and ergonomic for the user.
Based on our patented Retorik AI technology, the virtual assistant reproduces human language and allows you to chat with the patient in a natural way. The assistant is developed from a conversational engine, which understands the meaning of a question and provides a personalized answer from the field of ophthalmology. The virtual assistant allows, from a set of questions and answers designed in collaboration with doctors, to establish an initial diagnostic lead and guides the user to the appropriate professional. Thanks to the reports established by the Eyelib innovation, professionals in the field of ophthalmology ensure better patient care, from a qualitative and quantitative point of view.
