University of Bordeaux
To better prepare future healthcare professionals, an intelligent virtual trainer trains, informs and coaches learners in delivering bad news.
As part of the modernization of its services, the University of Burgundy wanted to digitalize and optimize access to information for its students and teams. We contributed to this project in collaboration with the university’s digital educational service in order to meet its needs. The objectives were to better guide students in their choice of study, to offer multilingual information, but also to collect and centralize data on student behavior, in order to conduct research in educational science. The need to which these objectives respond is to reduce the student dropout rate, by working on optimizing their university career.
One of the major challenges of this project is to make all available study programs visible and accessible, in order to allow each student to make the best possible choice. This accessibility can only be developed by centralizing and automatically updating the large amount of data on the programs, but also university life. Finally, it is necessary to select and collect information on the student’s behavior.
In order to best respond to the University of Burgundy’s problem, we have designed 3 complementary solutions. First, our teams have developed a digital career coach accessible on the UBoussole website. Based on our patented Retorik AI technology, the virtual assistant informs and guides students using its intelligent conversational engine. In addition, a keyword search engine makes it easy to browse the various information on the website; a data visualization system makes it possible to summarize all the available study courses in another form. These different features aim, in the long term, to reduce the school dropout rate among students.
